Even today, as I stand in front of her photo and wonder what she felt like when I ignored her, when I acted as if I did not care for her, when I expressed my discomfort at taking care of her. She never said a word then but now the silence in my house is her reply to me. Her eyes keep questioning me on what exactly had I earned at the end of this circle, was this perfect life I had yearned for, was this the freedom I pined for. I think she knows the answer.
